Manchester United have confirmed that Hojlund will miss the game against Forest due to illness. The news is a blow for both player and manager Erik ten Hag alike, particularly as he finally scored his first Premier League goal last time out to seal a stunning comeback against Aston Villa. Hojlund admitted after the game he was the "happiest man alive" after finally ending his goal drought.

The news means that Hojlund misses the chance to build on his goal and he joins a lengthy list of absentees for Ten Hag. Injuries have plagued United all season with Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Harry Maguire and Mason Mount also out of the game. However, there is some good news for Ten Hag, as Amad Diallo has been named in the matchday squad for the first time since recovering from injury. Amad was named on the bench for the match, with Antony taking Hojlund's place in the starting XI.
